Cordogan Clark & Associates was commissioned to design a two-story cardiac center to accommodate an expansion for the hospital's two-year-old Heart Insti¬tute on the Rush-Copley Hospital Campus.
The new facility will house a new Women's Heart Center and centralize all of the hospital's outpatient cardiac services, which are currently located in various parts of the Rush-Copley campus. These include the cardiac rehab lab, a diabetes center and diagnostic tools such as nuclear imaging and echocardiograms, cholesterol and stress tests, as well as preventative care for heart disease.
Dr. Santosh Gill, medical director of Rush-Copley's Cardiology Services, and the Fox Valley Cardiovascu¬lar Consultants group will relocate to the new facility.
The new Rush Copley Cardiac Care Center is home to a Curves gym, a franchise with a program of three 30-minute workouts a week- making it more convenient for women to access diagnostic services as part of their routine. The new facility is also home to community programs and continued education for physicians as well as clinical trials.
