In order to better serve their wide range of members in the Lafayette-West Lafayette area, Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union felt the need to build a new branch on the east side of Lafayette. Along with implementing new member services, PEFCU wanted the new branch to have a distinctive look that reflected their organization's identity.
The resulting design called for a one story branch with approximately 3,742 square feet of area. The branch facilities include four PSA stations, a skylight lit café: providing members with internet access as well as other services, a conference room, two offices, a vault room, lockbox room and a staff work area and beak room. Included in the design is a unique teller/member interaction in the form of a remote teller location and RTS stations. This design allows tellers to provide services to more members at once than a typical teller/member counter layout. Careful coordination was required with PEFCU's equipment provider as Keystone designed a flowing space that still provided the required space and privacy for the RTS units. A pyramid theme reflecting PEFCU's identity and logo are seen throughout the space including triangular windows and pyramidal skylights.
Through coordination and collaboration Keystone was able to combine specific PEFCU design and marketing elements and project equipment requirements into a flowing, open plan design that welcomes PEFCU members to their new branch.
